By the Associated Press. TROMSOE, Norway, September 14.— Two pieces of airplane wreckage, which at first were thought to be relics of the Latham seaplane in which Roald Amundsen and five companions were lost, were found yesterday south of this port. An examination by experts proved, however, that instead of being from the Amundsen plane, the wreck- age was from a German machine. This latter plane was damaged a . TRIDAY. SEPTEMBER 14, 1981 few days ago and was repaired here. The broken parts were thrown into the sea by the workmen. Failure to recognize the source of the wreckage at once was due largely to the fact that it was found on the route which Amundsen followed when he left this port last June and in the vicinity where one of the pontoons of his plane was picked up early this month. French aviation experts who helped identify the pontoon on September 4, were among those who discarded today's finds. The Amundsen machine was a Latham plane, belonging to the French navy. Besides the noted explorer it carried Lieut. Lief Dietrichsen, Pilot Rene Gui Baud and three other French naval men. Spanish interests have obtained an exclusive 40-year concession for aerial passenger service between Spain and Argentina and are planning monthly ll{il’;lp trips between Seville and Buenos Aires.
