Keenan, 89 years old, former associate editor of the Philadelphia Evening Bul- letin, died Wednesday in his home at Erinbrook, Prince Georges County. He was a Civil War veteran. Mr. Keenan, a contemporary of Horace Gree- ley and former Secretary of State Hay in the newspaper field, used the nom de plume of Dunois in his work for the Philadelphia paper. Dr. Schart was a widely known edu- cator, Born in Germany, he came to this country 50 years ago. He had served as an instructor in languages, modern history and _philosopl at Catholic University, Holy Cross Acad- emy and other institutions in this city. CAMPBELL DIES. Widow of Civil War Veteran Leaves 3 Sons and 3 Daughters. Mrs. Amanda Burus Campbell, widow of S8amuel A. Campbell, veteran of the Unlon Army, died at her residence, 843 Upshur street, today, after a three- month {liness. She was in her seventy- ninth year. She is survived by three sons, Dr. Charles B. Sisson, 80 years old, 2715 South Dakota avenue northeast, for 40 years an employe of the Pension Office, died yesterday at Garfield Hos- pital after a lingering illness, Mr. Sisson ‘was born and reared in Porter, Ohlo. He came to Washington in 1880 and worked for the Govern- ment until his retirement eight years ago. He served on the board cf re- ve' of the Pension Office for a num- ber of years.
