Ashton, 76 years old, of 1233 Thirtieth street, who served as & clerk in the Weather Bureau for more than 40 years, died at his residence Wednesday after a short illness. Mr. Ashton was born in Baltimore, but had lived in the Capital for 43 vears. In his youth he served in the Signal Corps of the Army and was v to Gen. Roy Stone during the nish-American War. His service in Weather Bureau dates back to the en Gen. Greely was chief of the bureau. He retired last August Mr. Ashton is survived by his widow, Mrs Adela Ashton: a son.
