One advanced the thought that probably Mr. Coolidge's decision to retire to private life at the expira- tion of his term many have been a contributing factor in this apparent thoughtfulness on the part of the public. It is thought also that the personal popularity of Mr. and Mrs. Coolidge throughout the country un- : | questionably had something to do .| with it As has been their custom, the Presi- dent and Mra.
