Special Dispatch to The Star. NEW YORK, Noveniber 11.—The curb market today displayed the same characteristics it had on previous day! of the week, with the impol changes taking place on the side rising prices. The element favoring higher levels had the additional in- centive of the favorable dividend ac- tion taken by General Motors upon which to base its operations, and it acted accordingly. New high records were marked up in a number of in- stances, but so far ‘as encouraging general outside participation in the main body of stocks, they failed of this purpose. Among the oils Vacuum stood out as the favorite and was bid up more than 6 points to a new high record. The incentive here, of course, was the prospect of carly distribution of part of the company’s huge surplus, which is expected to take the form of a 100 per cent stock dividend, with the new shares carrying a $3 dividend.
