Sixty of the 75 ate institutions for feeble-minded and epileptics, in operation in 36 States, received a total of 7,203 patients during 1926, an in- crease of 8.8 per cent over 1922, the bureau statement said. There were 7.6 first admissions per 100,000 of the general population, as compared with 7.4 in 1922, indicating, the bureau said, that the number of given institutional treatment increased only a little more rapidly tham the general population.
