Agreement Is Rumored. After attorneys representing domestic camps had rems locked doors most of t ay. new reports that a settlement already had heen reached were @irculated and gen- wrally were mecepted as true. COURT TURNS DOWN | PLEA FOR RECEIVER Petition Against Maier & Buttress Filed by Creditors Is Denied. Chief Justice McCoy has denied the application for & receiver of the Maier & Buttress Co.. Inc., which operates # wholesale hotel equipment and sup- piy depot at 608 Pennsylvania avenue. The petition was filed by the Frank- lin National Bank and two other creditors who explained that the firm owes 155 creditors a total of $21,000, but has assets worth $50,000. It is unable to borrow more money and suits are threatened, the court is told. xplaining why he denied the ap-| tion, the chief justice said: “The effect of granting it would be merely 10 hold off creditors who have a right 10 realize on their claims and who should not be called upon to wait for payment until a receiver has had an opportunity, after conducting the business of the corporation, to realize | sufficient to pay the creditors. The usual experience in similar cases is that the business is not run at a| profit and that eventually it is wound up by the receiver.” HUBBARD WILL FILED | 20cCarbona Fluid With This Coupon and .. tles of the popular cleansing fluid: re. moves spots and stains from all e e Wi This Coupon and . 12¢ Regular 20c bot- Carbona, dass 69¢ Bath Salts Joc Wrisley's Crystallized Bath Selts, large of de- lightfully scent- »d bath salts.
