Special Dispatch to The St BALTIMORE, August 19.—James J. Healy, identified as the bandit who held up the Ambassador Theater in Washington April 19 and robbed a ocery there June 1, yesterday was EVENING STAR. WASHINGTON, sentenced to serve 20 years in the Maryland pententiary on a charge of assaulting and attempting to rob John T. Moore, manager of the New Theater here. Healy was captured Monday. The manager had put the day's reoeipts in the theater safe. He refused to put up his hands when commanded to do so by Healy, and grappled with the bandit, who hit him over the head with the butt of the pistol and ran from the theater closely pursued by the manager. The theater is located in the shop- ping district. Healy was cornered and arrested. He pleaded gullty, and in less than 40 minutes was on his way to the pententiary to serve his term. Moving to block the possibility of a D. €. FRIDAY, parole, local police will file a detainer against Healy, it was announced to- day. A detalner usually means de- priving a prisoner of his right of Jarole, and surrender to the claiming jurisdiction at expiration of sentence. Healy yesterday was identified by Donald Gerow, assistant manager of the Ambassador as the man who got $1,900 in a box-office hold-up there, and Oscar E. Downs, manager of a Piggly Wiggly store at 1622 H street, which also was visited by a bandit in recent weeks, named Healy as the bandit.
