Although the | element of mystery may be cor ered the chief appeal of the stor: real theme is the undyinz dev of the three Geste boys to one another and the hardships and suffering they endure. The principal roles of the three Geste boys are played by Ronald Col man, Neil Hamilton and Ralph Forbes. They are supported by Noah Beery as the brutal Sergt Lejanue: Alice Jovee. Mary Brian. Norman Trevor. Viet McLaglen and hundreds of others as Arab hosts. The picture is a Para mount production, directed by Her. bert Brenon. The excellent cast ac- counts in large measure for the re markable popularity of the film. KEITH'S—Grant Mitchell. Grant Mitchell knows vaudeville from every angle and as a result had little trouble in scoring a bhig success in the clever playlet, “Three Flights Up.” at Keith's last night, where he occupies the headline position. Mr. Mitchell knows the value of speed in short sketches and never lets the dia- logue lag or a situation sag off. Three wnle give him effective assistance— illiam Barry, Helen' Murdock and Dorothy Dudgon. The extra added at- traction, Ledova, brilllant danseuse, has a most pretentious act, being as- sisted by Mr. Varkes as a dancing partner, and Joseph Nepolitano, a tenor: a spelndid gypsy orchestra is led by Mr. Elgin. The star is hailed @as one of our very best ballet dancers and she easily substantiated this as- ‘ sartion in her mensational whirlwind evolurion last night. The act closed the bill, but held everybody for the finish. Its reception was most cordial. In his endeavor to put over some- thing new, Harry Holmes, the pessi- mist monologist, recorded the laugh- ing hit or the evening. With solemn face Holmes goes about his work and ‘with the able assistance of two yvoung men, startling the audience with his innovations, all of which brought out peals of laughter. hd and Jennie Rooney opened the rogram with a clever trapeze stunt. h Challis sang popular songs in a taking manner. Little Robins.the walk- ing music store, has added several new stunts to his act and it went over 1n good style. Mario Valle, the operatic baritone, and Eri¢ Zardo, the noted planist, presented a strong singing and musical act, both being artists in their line. Fortunello and Cirilli funny tumbling clowns, pr their old act, and it made the usual hit. The regular house attractions fill out the strong bill. EARLE—"For Your Approv: The FEarle this week presents a widely varied bill of vaudeville and picgures, headlined by a colorful of- fering, “For Your Approval,” a minia- ture revue, presented in three scenes of dance, song and comedy. Henri and Beryl do some good baliroom dancing, and Josephine Thomas pre- sents acrobatic dances. The act is at- tractively staged and costumed. Tasseri’'s Romantic Revue runs the headliner a cloes secondfor the amount of applause. This is also a musical act, but of a different kind. . Classical gelections from the operas are offered, with Cosma Vullo, American soprano, leading the singing. Dance numbers are presented by Phelan and Frances. Bernard Wheeler and Adele Potter in “Smithie.,” a comedy, furnish the laughs of the bill. John R. Gordon & Co. present fety Tid-Bit n act of laughs.
