LINCOLN, Nebr., January 17%—An samendment to the Nebraska bread- and-water sentence law which would Hmit diet sentences to five days has been drawn up by Richard Hunter, ©Omaha, attorney, for introduction in the State Legislature. Mr. Hunter fgured in the fight against the diet sentence law last Fall, being attorney for Roy Carson and Thomas Nelson, convicted liquor law violators, who made an unsuccessful attempt to escape the sentences im- posed by County Judge Orville Chatt at Tekamah. The bread-and-water law was orig- inated to discourage bums from win- tering in Nebraska jails, Hunter said.
