SBURG, Fla., 14—The executive council of the American Federation of Labor today | gought a means of breaking the con- trol of an allezed communistic group ever the International Fur Workers Union of New York. In an executive session vesterday the council pledged all possible as- sistance and co-operation to the union in _riddi “of come munistic ip and destructive influences,” so long as no financial obligations were involved. The council declared itself con- vinced that a sroup of Commun closely allied with the Russian Soviet government virtually con- trolled the union. Voluminous Report Made. Ben Gold of the strikers’ joint hoard admitted he secretly met many times with Mr. Eitingon, a wealthy Russian fur importer who has a Soviet fur concession of approximately $80.000,- 000 a year, and that the final azree- | ment entered into” with the manu- facturers was forced by Eitingon. Lindheim, vice president of the Eitingon-Schild Co., in a statement,to- day commenting on action of the ex- ecutive council of the American Fed- eartion of Labor in cirticizing the part played by Mr. Eitingon in settling the New York fur strike, gave the names of several leading fur merchants, who, he said, have drafted a statement in which they accept their share of re- sponsibility for settlement of the strike. He asserted Mr. Eitingon presented @& plan to end the strike in its sixth or seventh week, but that the manu- facturers declined to accept.
