With a smooth and sympathetic presentation of Jean Webster's com- edy, “Daddy Long Legs,” the Stroll- ers, dramatic players of St. Gabriel's Church, last night added another suc- cess to their achievements, in St. Paul's Auditorium, Fifteenth and V streets. The play will be repeated tonight at 8:15. The play was put on under the direction of Charles A. Russell. Re- peated evidence of approval was be- stowed by the audience. Judy, the little orphan girl of the John Greer Home, who falls in love with Daddy Long Legs, the wealthy bachelor, was ably portrayed by Miss Margaret Frawley, niece of the late Dan Frawley, well known to theater- goers of the last few decades. Dan McGrath, as Daddy Long Legs, was a _capable leading character. Mrs. C. ‘W. Chamberlain, playing the matron of the orphanage; James Magruder, as the bad boy; James Gessford, in a dual role of trustee and butler, and James Quigley, as a trustee and sec- retary to Daddy Long Legs, all re- celved generous shares of applause. Others appearing in the cast were Joe Cook, Bob Malloy, Rose Russell, Margaret Barrett, Margaret Steiff, Mildred Gessford and May Russell, as orphans at the home; Josephine Sweeney, as a_ trustee and friend of the orphans; Mary Marsden and Ann Sweeney, as orphan roommates of Judy; J. Stewart Kimball, billed as a twentleth century product; Miss Kathleen Baker, who was “burdened with a pedigree,” and Miss Margaret Singerhorn, as the hired girl. FOUND. BIRD DOG. setter, female.
