Tlluminating gas, inhaled by two men, William Riley, 52 years old, 2209 Minnesota avenue southeast, and villiam Turner, colored, 36 years old, 452 P street, proved fatal early yes: terday morning. Riley was alone in his home, it is stated, his wife being on a visit to friends in the country. The odor of gas was detected by a neighbor. His hody was found, and gas had escaped from a fixture of a small stove in his room. Turner's body was found on the floor of his bedroom, and the condi- tions indicated to Coroner Nevitt that he had detected the odor of gas and was endeavoring to reach the fixture when he fell to the floor and died. Coroner Nevitt investigated both deaths, There was every indication that the gas had been accidentally left turned on by the men on retiring, and certificates were given accord- reception.
