OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., Oc- tober 25.—Buried for five days in 10 acres of garbage at the city dump, a grain of radium, valued at $4,000, was restored yesterday to its owners, Dr. E. S. Lain and Dr. M. M.’ Roland, both of Okla- homa City. The radium was dis- covered by the use of an electro- scope in the hands of experts. Since Wednesday, when the phy- sicians discovered that a nurse in their office threw a bandage in which the radium had been used into an ash can which was carted away, they have been digging quietly at the dump, examining every bit of paper and every scrap of refuse with utmost care.
