Dr. Paru, who is now engaged in secial medical in vestigations in this country, told the convention of her work and that of her associate, Dr. Anna Kugler, in India and expressed appreciation of the support given by the American church. Officers of the convention were pre- sented with large bouquets of chrys anthemums by the delezation from Kansas. The report of the board of home missions and church extension proposed standardization in chapels. The board said “the Lutherans are expanding so rapidly th they have expended more than $230,000 in the t two years in aid of 74 missions which have been established in that period. Each of these missions re- quired some kind of an edifice in which to worship, and the appeal for funds for this purpose constituted one of the large drains upon the Lutheran home mission treasury.” As a guide to the yvoung missions, the home mission board recommends the preparation by the committee on architecture of several stock plans or chapels to cost $8.000, $10,000, $12,- 600 and perhaps $15.000 would be a well rendered service.
