K. FOR CALVERT STREET Width of 60 Feet From c«mnech- cut Avenue to 20th Is ‘ Authorized. Creation of a center parking 12 feet wide, where trees and grass will be planted, was authorized for Calvert street from Connecticut avenue to Twenty-ninth street by the District Commissioners yesterday on recom- mendation of C. B. Hunt, engineer of highways. Repaving of the roudway on Cal- vert street will be started soon. Un- der the new plan there will be two 24-foot roadways with a 12-foot park- ing in the center, making a total width between curbs of 60 feet. The Commissioners also ordered that the width of the roadway of Thirty-fourth street between FPorter and Quebec streets be reduced from 30 to 28 feet when the street is re- paved to save the trees on this street. The reduction in the width of the roadway will be added to the width of the sidewalk space. The building line will not be changed.
