Additions to Washington’s automatic- controlled traffic areas will be made s, it was nounced yesterday by Traftic Dire tor M.O.Eldridge, upon the arrival of the new lights purchased some time ago. The new lights are identical with those now in operation on Sixteenth street and Massachusetts avenue. Sldrldge has planned to extend the light-controlled area on Sixteenth street from Florida avenue to Newton street und on Masachusetts avenue from Twelfth street east to Mount Vernon Square, Lights will be placed on all four corners of this square. The new lights also will be placed on Fifteenth and Seventeenth streets between I street and Rhode Island wue. Special Dispatch to The Star Md, June 29.- ¥ranklin Bicknell, garage owner, o Woodmont was held in $5,000 bond for the grand jury after a hearing in Police Court today in connection with the death of two soldiers, who were fatally injured on the Rockville pike by an auto on the evening of June 19. The two soldlers, Privates Walter Lee Shears and Stanley P. Kelly of Company B, 13th Infantry Humphreys, Va., were walking along the roadway when the car of Bick- nell, who responding to a call fo asslstan m a stranded autoist, is sald to have struck them.
