HOUGHTON LEADS TRIBUTE N LONDON Service for Memorial Day in St. Margaret’s Church Draws Americans. By the Assoclated Press. LONDON, June 1.—Americans in London did honor to those of the United States Army and Navy buried in the British Isles a Memorial day service yesterday in St. Mar- garet's Church, Westminster. Alanson B. Houghton, the American Ambassador, and Horace Lee Washing- ton, American consul general at Lon- don, with the staffs of the embassy and consulate, and representatives of all the American ieties and of the Vnited States Shipping Board were ,umong those who attended the service. One of the most touching features was the presence of four veterans, of ages ranging from 79 to 83, who fought in the Federal Army during the Civil War. They wore their Grand Army medals, and one of them car- Ambass Before the service a brief ceremony was held in Whitehall, when Capt. Henry H. Townsend of the 2d Com- pany, Governor's Foot Guards, New Haven, Conn., accompanied by other officers of the same command, and Herbert Browlie, adjutant of the London post of the American Legion, placed wreaths on the cenotaph.
