S SENT BY'RADID Byrd Plcture Flashied Across Atlantic Shows World Top . Is lce Sheet. Ry Cable to The Star. LONDON, May 29.—With this dis- patch is sent by radio to The Star the tirst photograph ever taken of the North Pole. It was made by Lieut. Comdr. Richard E. The doughty steamship Chantier, after reaching Gravesend, near the mouth of the Thames, pushed up the river and at 4 a.m. halted at the dock near the Tower of London. In his recent flight to the North Pole he learned much that will help him in future Arctic flights. First he will turn his attention to skis for enabling the plane to land on the ice. When he reached Spitzenber- gen he discovered his skis were not heavy enough and was forced to make them heavier. He believes that with the proper skis he could land at 1l within_walking distance of the Noi Pole.
