McCoy, Clear Cre~k, Va. The pocketbook swindlers met the woman at Fourteenth and Q streets and told her they had found a pocket- book containing a large sum of money. They told Mary she would get part of the money if she produced cash enough to assist in making change. McCoy met two white men in the vicinity of the Capitol and was in- duced to participate in a game of matching pennies.
