His obedience proved that death did not end all. The freeing of TLazarus trom his grave clothes proved to all present the reality of the miracle, The Miracle’s Effect. The popnlar effect of Christ's mas. tery over death and His power to give life resulted In the acceptance of Jesus as the Messiah by many of the witnesses of His crowning miracle. It created a crisis that called for an immediate action by the Sanhedrin. The religious leaders decided to put Christ to death. They secured the support of the political authoritles. They could not deny the raising of Lazarus. Both the religious and po. calling litical leaders feared a popular revo- lution would deprive them of their privileges, prestize and power. This caused them to combine and to co operate Christ. The ralsing of Lazarus demon- strated that physical death is not an evil. It is only an incident in an end- less life to those who have faith in Jesus as the Resurrection and the Life. The lite to which Laziruz wos restored was identical with the one that he had lived before his death, 1t was prophetic of the coming resurrec. tion of Jesus, who proved Iis mastery over death, upon the first Easter in securing the death of morning, when He rose from the dead. || It is prophetic of the hour when our Lord shall compel the graves to give out over the open tomb, calling Laza- rus forth, has heen heard down through the ages, flling men with its message of hope and cheer. He dem- onstrated then and at His own resur- rection the truth of our golden text, when Jesus sald, “1 am the resurrec- tion and the life: he that belleveth on me, though he die, vet shall he live.” He has proved that He had the power over death and the grave. All who trist Him as their living Savior will partake of His resurrection glory, for we ahall be like Him when He comes. MAKES SUI.CIDE LEAP. Man Jumps From Fourth' Ploor of Detroit Hotel.
