The copper and smelting stocks, a few of the rubber and tire shares and the electric issues were leaders on the slde of advance. On the other hand, the weakness in the low-priced rails Was a feature. Bullish enthusiasm was quickened in the final dealings when a fresh influx of buyving orders followed the rise in United States Steel to 136%, a new high record for all time. Gen- eral Moters pushed forward to 1493, while United States Cast Iron Pipe spared 10 points and Federal Mining 1. After its spectacular flight to 270 Dupont reacted to 258 under a w of profit-taking.
