S. LICHAU DEAD, RESULT OF ACCIDENT Was Fatally Injured When Hit by Electric Car and Succumbed in Hospital. Henry S. Lichau, 1215 New Jersey avenue, was fatally injured yesterday morning by an electric car of the Washington-Virginia Railway Co. at Upton, Va., dying shortly after reach ing Emergency Hospital. Lichau's hearing was affected, it is stated, and it is thought the accident | resulted from his failure to hear and heed the warning sounded by the motorman. The car was eastbound and was approaching the station when Lichau, it is believed, crossed the westbound tracks in an effort to reach the station to board the car to_come to the city. Motorman C. J. NEW YORK, June 16 (@) — Vicomte Gustav de la Jarrie, head of the French government’s information bureau in New York City and one of the pioneer promoters of aviation in France, died at his home yesterday, after a brief illness, aged 62 years. The vicomte induced the Wright brothers to go to France in 1909, and constructed the first airdrome in France at Cannes. He was associated ‘with the King of Spain in promoting the Wright brothers' activities at Pau, France. Canada is standardizing its crops. TUESDAY CADWELL TYLER DIES AT AGE OF 70 YEARS Was for Many Years, Until Re-| tired, Employe of Internal Revenue Bureau. Cadwell Tyler, 70 years old, many years an employe in the in ternal revenue division of the Treasury Department and a resident of this city more than 40 years, died at his residence, 1712 Oregon avenue, Saturday. He was retired from the Government last year. A native of New York State, Mr. Tyler was the son of the late Jerome B. Tyler and Mrs. Elizabeth Cadwell Tyler. He was graduated from Yale in the class of 1877 and afterward received a law degree at George Washington University. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Yale Alumni Assocfation. He also was a member of the Church of the Cove- nant and the men's society of that church.
