The campaign of the Washington College of Law for an endowmerit fund of $100,000 was instituted at an organization meeting and dinner at the Women's City Club last night. The meeting w presided over by Mrs. Helena Doocy Reed, assistant chair- man of the alumri division of the campaign. During the campaign, which will be participated in by the alumni asso- ciation of the college, every alumnus of the college will be canvassed, not only the 400 or more in Washington but several hundred scattered throughout the States. The drive will continue 12 days and will be confined for the most part to students, faculty and graduates of the college. More than $4,000 was subscribed at last g meeting, and it was announced that the student body and faculty had pledged more than $10,000. Among those present at the dinner were Mrs. Ellen Spencer Mussey and Miss Emma M. Glllett, founders of the college; Mrs. Laura H. Halsey, new dean of the college, and Judge Mary O'Toole, each of whom spoke of the value of the institution to the Nation’s Capital and the desirability of placing it on an endowment basis in order to rreserve its standards and to enable it to keep pace with the profession. A supper will be given at the ‘Women's City Club tonight, at which time plans for the furtherance of the campaign will be completed.
