Silver-plated fixtures are appro- priate for any rooms the colors of which berder on the grey, while fixtures made of brass are better for walls finished in tans, buff or gold. Again, fixtures made of bronze and wrought iron are best against a rough plaster background. This does not mean, however, that any of these fixtures may not be otherwise em- ployed, but 1 have found them at their best against such backgrounds.
