MBRIDGE, Mass., March 24.— Alfred Tirrell, a patient in the city hospital here, suffering with heart trouble, escaped from the hospital early today, ran through the neighborhood in his night clothes and rang several door bells before coliapsing in front of a fire alarm box, which he had sounded. Firemen found him on the side- walk and carried him into the hospital, where he died two hours later. Logan Grant McPherson, organizer of the Bureau of Railway Economics and its director until 1914, also well known as an author and transporta- tion expert, dled in St. Luke's Hos- pital, New York City, yesterday, ac- cording to word received here today.
