LONDON, March 11.. the Dally Mail from Kenya colony of British East Africa, reports that Mrs. Green, a noted Irish | explorer from Dublin, and a British captaln have been killed by a rhi- noceros, . Mrs. Green had crossed Africa from the, Belgian Kongo to Nairobl and was about to climb Mount Kenya when she encountered the rhinoceros t Nanyukl. The woman fired with small-bore rifle and wounded the animal, which thereupon charged upon and fatally injured her. The British officer, Capt. by his wife, arrived |later in a motor car at the scene. He was not aware of Mrs. Green's death and they alighted from the car. The rhinoceros then charged upon them. The captain shouted a warning to his wife and tried to blind the animal by throwing his coat over its head. The rhinoceros, however, knocked the captain down and trampled him to death.
