Dr. Simon offici- ating. The ceremony was followed by a reception and buffet supper. The temple was decorated with white chrysanthemums and ferns The bride was given in marriage by her father, and wore a gown of floral brocaded satin made on stralght lines, with a narrow panel held by a rosetts of silver ribbon falling from the right shoulder. A ci le of orange blos- soms was caught at the waistline at the left side, and the train was edged with three-inch chiffon. She carried orchids and lillles of the valley Miss Esther Sherby was the maid of honor and wore blue chiffon over satin and carried pink roses. Miss Leech, the youngest daughter of the late Lucien Theodbre Leech of Clifton Forge, Va., is well known in Warrenton and Washington, where she has lived for the most part during the last fews years. She spent the past year in Porto Rico and since her re- turn has visited in Hot Springs and Warrenton. Mr. Carter, a member of Pi Kappa Alpha, graduated with honors from the law school of Washington and Lee University in the class of 1916, and since graduation has lved in Fairfax and Warrenton. A son of the late James R. Carter, he s a member of one of the leading fam- illes of Fauquier County, which has been their home for many years. After a trip in the North, the young couple will be at home in Warrenton, Va. A beautiful wedding took place New Year eve at the Washington Heights Presbyterian Church, when Mrs. Phoebe Ludlow Ward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wells Ludlow, be- came the bride of Mr. Aubrey Bedell Carter. The bride wore a gown of powder blue chiffon and lace over ross pink satin made on long stralght lines and trimmed with roses. She wore a sil- ver Russian headdress and carried an armful of pink rosebuds.
