Belding, New York silk manufacturer, against the action of the Coast Guard recently in boarding his yacht, the Cocoon oft Miami, Fla, have been found hy the Treasury to be without merit. A letter has been sent to Mr. Belding, it was announced yesterd: setting forth that the treatment corded his yvacht, was the same as that accorded any other ship in the circumstances, adding that there were more than 48,000 vessels stopped and searched by the Coast Guard in the last year. Mr. Belding's on the night vacht was of November manufacturer charged that a shot from a cutter struck the boat. In- vestigation, the Treasury declared, failed to bear out this assertion.
