COCHRAN AT ARLINGTON CEMETERY Civil War Veteran’s Widow, Who Died in Newark, Del., Laid to Rest Today. The remains of Mrs. Katherine E. Cochran, widow of Joseph Cochran, who died suddenly Saturday at the home of her daughter, Catherine E. Churchman, at Newark, Del, were laid at rest today at Arlington National Cemetery. Funeral services iere held at the home of her son, Stephen E. Cochran, 2949 Newark street, Rev. John T. Huddle of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Mrs. Cochran was born in Philg- delphia in 1855, her family moving to Washington' shortly afterward where she spent the remainder of her life. Her husband was a veteran of the Civil War and an employe of the Post Office Department here for many years. She is survived by two daugh- ters, Mrs. C. E. Churchman of New- ark, Del, and Mrs. E. C. Cummings of Philadelphia, Pa.; three sons, Rich- ard K. Stcphen E. and George & Cochran, and a brother, George T. Parker of this city. FAUL H. Tamplet, for more than 25 years general agent here,of the Mut- ual Benefit Life Insurance Co., of Newark, N. J., died suddenly yester- day at his residence in the Ontario Apartments, Funeral services will be held in his apartment Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, at which Rev. James H. Taylor, pastor of Central Presbyterian Church, of which Mr. Tamplet was a deacon, will officiate. Interment will be in Rock Creek Cemetery. ‘The deceased was a native of Georgetown, S. C,, where he was born 50 years ago. After engaging in in- surance work in West Virginia, he entered the employ of the company which he represented here. He was a member of the Columbla Country Club, Natlonal Press Club and Washington Board of Trade. He was a lover of outdoor sports, being especially fond of high-bred hunting dogs. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Gertrude M. Tamplet; two daughters, Cleo and Gertrude, both of this city; a brother, Charles Tamplet, and a s ter, Mrs. Walter Hazzard, both of Georgetown, S. C.
