Late Arrivals and Smart Store News of Today By ETHEL M. PARKS Are you one of those who love a mesh bag, but seldom find one that is at all practical, because it is so small? The one sketched here is a graceful, rich looking affair, plenty large enough for every- thing one would carry in it, and has a mirror concealed in the top. It is what is usually known as a fish scale mesh, closely woven, and the fastening is set with a colored stone. This one ; is in silver, and the price is $14.98. Strange to say, the gold bag of the same design does not cost quite as much. In Paris and New York they are wearing mul- X\ tiple bracelets, single ones, double and triple sets, and if one has enough to reach from the wrist to the elbow, so much the better. Here are some dainty, nar- row silver bracelets, in groups of three, with a chased design, which are part of a very unusual purchase of sample jewelry. And they have been marked at a very low price. Only $1.00. It has been said that women will buy toilet articles, regardless of their quality, if put up in attractive contain- ers. Perhaps the in- dictment is true, but when one may secure both, as in these Deau- ville preparations in - their exquisite blue satin and gold containers, it is easy to under- stand their vogue. They are made in France, of course, and are from the House of Hudnut. Toilet powder, perfume and talcum are shown in this sketch. The price is no higher than one would ex- pect to pay for an excellent article. And now we have the beaded envelope bag, to be carried under the arm, if one wishes to be really smart. Itisanim- portant item for - the costume ensemble, says Vogue, and may be in vivid red or green, to bring a contrasti dash of color, or it may be in black or beige. Here is the very latest—beaded in green beads, with a design in red, poudre bleu and purple, with a gold line running through. Some fascinating new compacts have arrived. The one on the right is frankly an aid to beauty, with the lipstick dangling from the ring to slip over one’s finger. It is in silver with a black center design. You will be surprised that - the price is only $3.98. The next one might be a change purse, bat it isn’t. It contains powder, rouge, lipstick and a mirror, and imitates Roman gold, with a colored design and stone center and chain handle. This one is $3.50. The one on the left is in gold, set with blue stones, with a green and white design and chain handle. It contains only powder and costs $2.50. All are so lovely it makes selection difficult.
