CLARENDON PASTOR ACCEPTS CALL HERE Rev. Dr. C. P. Ryland Coming to Kendall Baptist Church on June 15. REV. C. P. RYLAND, Rev. Dr. C. P. Ryland, pastor of the Pirst Baptist Church,of Clarendon, Va., has accepted a call to the pas- torate of the Kendall Baptist Church of this city. He will take up his duties here June 15. Rev. Dr. Ryland became pastor in Clarendon In October, 1918. During his pastorate the ol\um‘ has made marked progress along all lines. He s a native of Virginia and well known throughout the state. He was educated at Richmond College and at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky. Previous to his coming to Clarendon Rev. Dr. Ryland had a_successful pastorate at Richmond, Va. He is connected with the long line of Virginia Ry- Jand’s, many of whom have been among the leading ministers and de- nominational leaders of Virginia. DR. MORRIS TO PREACH. R. L. Wolven Named Pastor of Diocesan Church HagRY-EWING REV. RAYMOND L. WOLVE Bishop James E. Freeman has ap- pointed Rev. Raymond L. Wolven, now an associate minister at the Church of the Epiphany as vicar of Trinity Diocesan church. He will as- sume charge September 1 Rev. Mr. Wolven was for more than a year associated with the Rev. D. R Covell at Trinity, and was the Epis- copal chaplain in the hospitals and penal institutions of the District of Columbia. Two years ago at the re- quest of Dr. James E. Freeman, then rector of the Church of the Epiphany, Mr. Wolven came to Epiphany as as- sociate minister with special juris- diction over the activities of the younger people of the parish. Since Bishop Freeman's con- secration as bishop of Washington, Mr. Wolven has been the minister in charge of Epiphany. Mr. Wolven was born In Bloomfleld, N. J., and received his education in the public schools at Bloomfleld, and later at Columbla University and the General . Theological Seminary in New York city. He was ordained to the deaconate in 1908 and to the priesthood in 1909 by Bishop Lines. His first charge was as an_assistant at” Trinity Church, New York: for three years he was vicar of Holy Trinity (0ld Swedes' Church) Wil- mington, Delaware, and was later as- sociate rector of Trinity Church, Al- bany, N.
