Greene Memorial, to Be Started Soon. Rev. Dr. W. §. Abernethy, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, has an- | nounced that the plans for the new cight-story Sunday school building to be known &s the Samuel H. Greene Memorial Bullding are now practi- cally completed and will very shortly be presented to the members of the congregation. This building, it is de- clared, will be the most complete and | the largest building dedicated to the | purpose of Sunday school work and | rellglous education in the world. It is to be situated on the ground imme- | diately south of the present church and Sunday school house and will contain every equipment necessary for the efficient functioning of such a huge plant. The week of June 8 has been set aside for the purpose of informing all of the church membership in regard to the floor plans and general archi- tecture of this building, together with the proposed plans for added useful- ness_in certain educational features. The Holiday House committee of the rls’ Friendly Society in the diocese Wishington, of which Mrs. W. H. arranged an entertainment at Holiday House next Friday at 3 p.m. Holid House is the vacation home for women and girls working in the city and_else- where. It is situated on the banks of the Potomac River near Mount Vernor. There are accommodations for about forty girls, which are ex- tensively used during the summer time, and especially over the week ends. Miss Olara Nourse is in r dence and the house now is open. Arrangements will be made for games of bridge and mah jong. Those wish- ing to attend who are not provided with automobiles may take the Mount Vernon electric car leaving 12th and D streets at 2 p.m. DR. WOODS TO PREACH. Completed Sections to Be Seen at Tomorrow’s Service. the Good Shepherd, 6th and I streets northeast, wlil view for the first time tomorrow the completed portions of the large window in the end of the building facing 6th street. The window has been divided into twenty- six sections of various sizes, with t idea that the sections would he filled with pictured glass from time to time s memorials to departed members of the congregation. The three center panels, depicting Christ as the Good hepherd, have been completed, has also a circle of cheruvs. These have been given in memory of grett Perry and Dorothy Louise Haw- ey. it is intended that the outer and lower panels shall picture scenes from the life of Christ, from the an- nunciation to the ascension. When completed it is thought that this will be one of the finest pleces of leaded glass work in the city. BACCALAUREATE SERMON. Rev. Dr. Stokes of Yale Will Con- duct Services at G. W. U. The baccalaureate service of George Washington University will be heid tomorrow at 2:45 o'clock, on_the uni- versity campus, 21st and G streets northwest. Jesse Guy Smith of Connersville, Ind., who has resigned from the pastorate of the Central Christian Church of that city to enter upon the duties of he position recently established in the focal church. Mr. Smith is a graduate of Bethany College, Wellsburg, W. Va., and has done post-graduate work in religious education at the University of Chi- cago.
