PARKS Geod news travels quickly. It hasn't been a whispering campaign either—our customers have talked right out loud. They have shopped—they have made comparisons—and always they come back thoroughly satisfied that no greater val- ues are to be found than those offered in this Great May Underprice Sale. All of us like to pass a good thing along to our friends—and in this case it is doing" those friends a real favor. Thinking it over, this sale reminds me of a horse race. At the start they are all off with a spurt, and for the first few miles they keep it un. Then they settle down to a slower, steadier pace, which in TR —— R PP PP TSP the end takes them under the wire in. } record time. The first dav of the sale the Palais Reval broke all records for attendance. Although extra salespeople were pro- vided, many came who could not be waited upon. But they came again the next day and the next, and the succeed- ing days settled down to steady buying. And each day brings new stock and new customers, as well as those who came the day before, and the sale is breaking its own record of a year ago. Those women who expressed disap- pointment because they had not been able to get down the day previous to secure one of the featured for a particu- lar day, will be pleased to know that a late shipment will now make it possible. : for them to secure the dress they wished to buy. The Ceats at $23.75 are values beyond all expectations, and the woman who needs an extra wrap or topcoat will profit by purchasing it at this remarkable sale price. Have you seen the brilliant Ribbon Scarfs, in Roman stripes, polka dots and other fancy stripes? The woman with a flare for making fancy things will be de- lighted with the novelties shown in rib- bons—easy to make if you have the knack. The beautiful Alpaca Brocades and Satin Spun in the Silk Department are the objects of many enthusiastic re- marks. They make' lovely dresses and blouses, and some effective capes have been fashioned of them. The price, of course, is the big feature. 40-inch Alpaca Brocades, originally $1.98, are only $1.44. The Satin Spun, which are $3.50, are $2.24. Is it any wonder the cus- tomers are enthusiastic? And Hats! What woman cannot en- thuse over hats? I'd like to tell you a secret, only I am not supposed to—yet. You know, I keep a secret just like every woman does. “Advertise it! Shout it from the house tops.” There, I have said that before some mere man gets a chance to say it. But I will just tell you this much, and don’t tell anyane I said so, but see the papers on Friday night and you will find out something about Hats that will surprise you. And then get down early Saturday morning. That is a tip that will be worth real money to you. And this is Baby Week. Of course, you oy thinee an the il oty Pl s on y pil- :’o‘:{, u:.::ty pink and blue and w‘lrite ones; long and short dresses; lovely lit- tle creepers; soft sole shoes and mocca- sins; jolly little rubber aprons with pock- ets; the loveliest bonnets of mull and swiss; and besides all these, there are white or ivory enamel them in. I never used to look for bargains my- self, because I didn’t think there were any—but I have gotten so excited over the bargains in this sale that I want to buy everything in sight, whether I need it or not, and I have a great desire to call up all my friends and tell them about some particular thing I think they might ‘want.
