Byllesby, president of the Chicago company bear- ing his name, and one of the eminent figures in the electrical engineering world, died suddenly yesterday in the office of his dentist of heart disease. Since the war, in which he served as lieutenant colonel in charge of pur- chases for the American Army in Great Britain, Col. Byllesby had devoted only part time to the management of his or- ganization on account of ill health, and a short time ago returned to Chicago from California apparently much im- proved. Col. Byllesby, who was sixty-five years old, was born in Pittsburgh and_ edu- cated at Lehigh. In 1881 he joined Thomas A. Edison as draftsman. In 1885 he became vice president and general manager of the Westinghouse Electri¢ Company. He holds about forty electrical patents in his own name or as associate inventor. In 1902 he estab- lished the H. M. Byllesby & Co., which ta present is serving 841 communities in seventeen states. As @ result of his war service he re- ceived distinguished service medals from the United States and the British gov- ernment. MRS. C. R. JIMERSON DIES. Resident of Washington Since 1850 Passes Away in Florida. Mrs. Carrie R. Jimerson, widow of the late Isaac Jimerson and resident of this city since about 1850, died at the home of her daughter.
