STREET CAR SERVICE | RESUMED IN AKRON, Month's Fight Between Mayor and Company Ends With New Franchise. FIVE.CENT FARE CHARGED Council May Cover Losses of Motori Bus Owners. By the Associnted Press. AKRON, Ohio, February 28.—Street curs were in operation here mday’ under terms of a franchise signed by ' the city council late last night. The city bhas been without car service since February 1, when the Northern Obto Traction and Light Company was ordered to discontinue local op- | erations by city officials. Under terms of the new franchise, the traction company will charge a five-cent fare and penny transfer. A temporary ordinance for a period of sixty days, passed as an emergency, is now effective.
