ADSOFFERED TOCLEAR URDE Washington Police Communi- cate With Richmond About Recent Mystery. An offer to assist in the investiga- tlon of the Edward Wright murder mystery in Richmond, Va., the night of October 15 is contained in two Mmessages sent the Richmond police authorities by Inspector Clifford L. Grant, chief of detectives, one sent several days ago and the other today. This morning’s message contained a Suggestion that a detective be sent ere from Richmond if the authori- {es there so desired. Incidentally Mrs. Ruth Stewart ‘Wright, twenty-seven years old, sis- ter-in-law of the slain man, roomer &t 3000 13th street northwest, is un- der arrest here in connection with the investigation of the passing of alleged forged checks. Inspector Grant wired the Richmond police that he had touched on the murder case in an interview with Mrs. Wright and that she declared she had no knowledge of the murder. Separated from Husband. It is sald by the police that Mrs. Wright has been separated from her[ husband, a resident of Baltimore, Md., the past few months. The husband Was at police headquarters in this clty yesterday discussing the cime Wwith Detectives Keck and Mansfield, Who arrested his wife in connection With investigation of bad check transactions. Mr. Wright, according to the polise, oxpressed the belief that the slaying of his brother was a matter of mis- taken tdentity.
