Coolidge has given her name to head the list-of patronesses for the Navy Rellef ball on Thanksgiving night at the New Willard hotel. Under propitious circumstances, this ball is always attended by the President and the First Lady. This year as usual a box will be placed at the disposal of the White Housé. ‘The ball is given annually to raise funds for the relief of the needy families of the Navy and Marine corps and is the only appeal ever made to the public. It is of particular interest to ser- vice people but it also attracts a large number of civilians, and invi- tations have been sent to all the naval attaches of foreign countries.
