E BALDWINTOFIGHT | FOR TARIFF WALL Seeks to Curtail British Un- employment by Aiding Manufacturers. By the Associated Press MANCHESTER, Ergland, November 3.—Prime Minister Baldwin in his speech here last night declared that drastic measures were required to solve England’'s problem of wide-! spread unemployment. T find myself here with my mind made up that if we are to attack the | problem of unemployment we must have recourse to radical and drastic measures.” The premier also developed his pro- tectionist policy somewhat further. He said he purposed to put a tax on manufactured goods, with special re- gard to those Imports which caused | the greatest amount of unemploy- | ment; to give substantial preference | to the dominions, but not to tax meat. | “We are living in a camoufla Deace, and no war in our histo had such economic reaction late war,” said the premier. is able to predict when stab y wil return to Europe.
