Pinchot, who in a letter to Sec- retary of the Treasury Mellon last night declared the federal govern- ment had failed to use all its power to combat violations of the prohibition laws, today awaited a reply to sug- gestions which he submitted to Mr. Mellon for federal co-operation with the state, The governor asked that the state police have access at any time to plants holding federal liquor per- mits. He also asked Mr. Mellon to sus- pend or cancel permits of plants making or using alcohol it proof of violatlon of the law should be sub- mitted by the state.
