Charges Dismissed Against Elmer Cox, Colored. A robbery charge against Elmer Cox, colored, was dismissed by Judge Schuldt in the United States branch of Police Court yesterday. Judge Schuldt said that the government had failed to make out a prima facie case and he would not hold the defendant for the grand jury. Ernest Carroil of 1208 Wylie street northeast, the complainant, charged that Cox had robbed him of $250 in cash. When Cox was arrested, a short time after the alleged robbery, he had only $35 in his possession and there was no proof that he had rob- |§ bed Carroll. The evidence showed that the men had been in a erap game. Cox claimed that Carroll had lost the money in the game. TWO HELD AS ROBBERS. Montrose Watrie and Smithdon M. Banion, colored boys, charged with robbery, had a hearing in_the United States” branch of Police Court today before Judge Schuldt and were held for the action of the grand jury, bond | being fixed at $5,000 each. They are alleged to have robbed Louis Gabriel, proprietor of a store | at 1004 North Capitol street, of $52| on the night of September 2. They | confessed the robbery, the arresting policeman said, and in addition are said to have confessed to housebreak- ing in eleven cases in the Georgla avenue section.
