26 Psychblogical Tests Assured For District Public Schools Board of Education Names Expert to Direct Work. Appointments and Promotions for Next Session. Tntroduction of psychological tests in the District public schools was as sured when the board of education vesterday afternoon appointed Miss Jessle La Salle of the Teachers' Col- jege of Columbia University to estab- lish and direct the new departmentof | educational measurement and search. She has taken courses with Profs. Thorndike, Mc- Call, Trabue and Hollingworth. Miss La Salle brings with her work a_ broad scholarship in the field of rsychology. Not only in her normal school course, but in her course in Teachers Coliege she has continued her study of psychology, there being courses with Profs. Thorndike, Hol- lingworth, Whitiey and Wocdworth. Courses in Philosophy. In the fleld of philosophy and prin- ciples of education Miss La Salle has taken courses with Profs. Kilpatrick, Konser, Rugg, McMurray and Patty HIill. In addition to the foregoing scholastic and professional training Miss La Salle has had experlence as classroom teacher and supervisor.
