ROCKVILLE, Md., Juné 21— Revenue Officer M. J. Fosshe took A bath in brandy here yesterday. The unusual ablutions occurred after Fosshe and other officers had captured a still, 100 gallons of brandy and 700 gallons of mash. Fosshe poured out some ten gal- lons of the brandy before the re- der was dumped, and bathed in the liquor for several minutes. It was a complete bath. according to fellow officers. Such baths are declared to be irvigorating. Aitred ¢ Frizzell of Glen Echo Heights, Montgomery county, con- tributed the bathing lquid. He was arrested on a charge of violating the local option law, after the still, peach brandy and mash were discovered. He gave bail. WILL TEST GUN RELICS. Spanish Cannon at Havaxn to Be Discharged. RUM EXPORT BAN FAILS. Canadian Parliament Rejects Bill Designed to Protect U. S. OTTAWA, June 21.—Two bills to curb the exportation of liquor were defeated in parliament last night. One would have made it unlawful to ship liquor to any foreign country until a consular certificate from that country had been granted certitying that un- dor its laws the Importation was le- sal. PARIS, June 21.—Three members of the cabinet, who are also members of the radical party, have ignored sum- mons by the executive committee of the radicals directing them to resign office In order to show their loyalty to the party, which yoted against Pre- mier Poincare in the recent debate on interior politics. The three are Min- Ister of Colonies Sarraut, Minister of Health Strauss and Undersecretary for Posts and Telegraphs Laffont. While the radicals consider them- selves excluded from the ‘ruling ma- jority and desire to sever all connec- tions with the cabinet, members of with_the radic nd being likely to favor them in the elections next year. The premier, however, is stoutly re- sisting all suggestions for the dismis- sal of any of his collaborators. The object of the radical party's executive committee in demanding the resignation of the three cabinet members is considered in political circles to be the weakening of Poin- the radicals are much stronger than in the chamber, and the decision of the mier in the upper house.
