MOD After a refreshing cruise in Ches- apeake bay and its tributaries, in- cluding the Potomae, Choptank ‘and Tred Avon rivers, more than 200 busi- ness men of the National Capital re- lturned to Washington today from the annual booster outing of the Mer- chants and Manufacturers’ Associa- tion. When the vessel docked here early today all were ready to vote one of the most pleasant cruises ever taken under the auspices of the association. Ross P. Andrews was chairman of the booster committee, which had charge of the outing and which all said had outdone itself this year to make the crulse one grand round of pleasure. Arriving at Cambridge, Md.. early yesterday morning, many of those aboard went ashore in motor boats ang_attended church, and the mayor of the town came back with them ard urged them to come again, as they had left a most favorable im- pression with the populace. Just be- fore hoisting' the anchor a naval hydroplane with copies of The Sun- day Star aboard came in sight and came down near the Midland. Lieut Rutledge Irvine of the staff at the naval alr station here was pilot of the plane. The Midland then steamed for Ox- ford, on the Tred Avon river, where « two-hour stop was made, and then 4 cruise on the bay and up the Pa- tuxent river for Solomon’s Island, where many enjoyed the fishing op- portunities, until 9 o'clock last night, when the return voyage was started. Capt. William Geoghegan, master of the Midland. turned the vessel over to the business men and helped them at every opportunity to have & good time while they were boosting for Washington.
