! 16 REAL ESTATE. ' . _THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, D. O, SATURDAY, MAY 19, 1923.° REAL ESTATE. REALTORS' MEETING rlum. All organisation and routine. TOSHORTEN RECORD Annual Gathering in Cleve- land to Embrace Program of Widest Scope. The Cleveland convention vof the National Association of Real Estate Boards, June 27 to 30, will break all records in so far as numbers and im- portance’of those attending is con- cerned, according to reports reaching the offices of the Washington Real Estate Board, Secretary John A. Petty #ald today. The Cleveland Real Estate Board has virtually completed preperations for en- tertaining and housing visiting realtors, and assurance has been received that delegates and women in attendance will have every attention. While men are in session at con- vention work, women will be enter- tained by the ladies’ reception com- mittee of the Cleveland board. Inter- esting excursions and other social activities, including a grand ball, have been planned. Of Vast Importance. “These annual conventions of the realtors are looked upon today al- most as a post-graduate course in real estate,” declares a statement {s- sued by the local board. “They ofter wonderful educational advantages, both to the realtor and salesman, and these advantages are of a very prac- tical nature. All phases of the real estate profession will be considered. Leading realtors and other nationak figures will lead in the discussion of topics connected or closely affiliated with real estate. In this way the ad- vantages and progress being made in 1lined and explained for the benefit of. realtors from other sections. - “The convention sessions pl‘ol: will be held in the Municipal audito- matters, as well as outstanding speeches on general topics, will be on the forenoon program of each anx. In the afternoon the meetings Wil be held in individual fll‘mlpl under the direction of the chairmen of the various divisions of the national as- soclation. Program Comprehensive. “Under these arrangements it has been possible to provide a very wide and comprehensive program. By it fndividual realtors ars afforded the opportunity of attending only such sesslons as will consider matters of interest to them. Ina general way the programs for the afternoon sessions have been grouped into the following sections: Mortgages, brokerage, build- ing and subdivisions, farm lands, in- dustrial properties, and property management. “The secretaries’ division, composed of board secreetaries from all over the country, will have its annual con- vention simultaneously ~with the parent organisation. Conferences will be held on matters pertaining to board organization, operation and management. As practically all of the boards located in the larger cities have full-time paid secretaries, this branch of the national association is rapidly becoming an important factor in these annual conventions. “The building exposition will prove both an entertaining and educational feature. In the show practically every phase of building construction and subdivision development will be laid out in accordance with the latest ideas gathered nationally.” DONT’S FOR HOME BUILDERS. Don't kick about the cost for “ex- tras” if you order them. Don't take any one's word about lump-sum prices—investigate before you build. Don't change your mind after the house if half built—changes cost money. Don't expect your architect to do his work for nothing. He must be paid for the work he does.
