More than $50,000,000 worth of con- struction work was started during March in the middle Atlantic states, ncluding the District of Columblia, according to the F. W. Dodge Cor- poration’s monthly review of build- ing activity. This represented a 74 per cent Increase over February's| figure and 32 per cent over March & year ago The March record included: $21.- 245.000, or 42 per cent, for residential bufldings; $5152,000, or 16 per cent, for business buildings; $6,806,000, or 13 per cent, for public works and utilities; $5.438.000, or 11 per cent, for industrial plants. and $4.286.000, or 8 per cent for educational buildings.
