Y., February 14. —Thomas Cripps, watchmen, whose body was found in a downtown building, was suffocated, it is be- lieved, by rubber cement which sealed his throat and mouth. The body was found on the floor of the boller room, directly under the faucet of a barrel of rubber ce- ment. The faucet was open and the cement was pouring over Cripps’ face and body. His lips were sealed tightly by the cement. The body was held fast to the floor and it was some time before it could be extricated. It is believed that Cripps either slipped and fell or was taken ill and collapsed before being smother- ed.
