Attack Passion Play Film Under Jersey Vice Law By the Associated Press, UNION HILL, N. J—February 14.— The Rev. Joseph N. Grieft, pastor of the Catholic Church of the Holy Family, was summoned to appear be- fore Recorder Louis Hauensteln, Unfon Hill, to answer a charge of violating the vice and immorality acts in permitting the presentation of the Lenten “Passion Play” sometimes called “America’s Oberammergau,” at the church last Sunday afternoon and night. The summons was made out by the recorder after he had fined seven moving picture exhibitors one dollar each on charges of violating the vice and tmmorality act by glving motion picture performances on Sundays. Father Grieff declared that he would continue to give performances on Sunday as had been the custom for the last nine years. He sald he was at a loss to understand wherein the presentation of the passion and death of Christ was a violation of the law. See Page 16 of Today's Star for the Announcement of the Victor Co.
