House Military Affairs Chairman Compelled to Take Rest. Chairman Kahn of the Ilouse mili- tary committee, who has been in ill health for some months, left yes- terday for his home in California, on the advice of his physicia: Repre- sentative McKenzie of Illinols, rank- ing republican on the committee, will act as chairman for the remainder of this session of Congress. Mr. Kahn, who was one of the out- standing figures in the House during the war period, suffered a severe iliness last December and failed to regain his !lronfilh as rapldl% as his physicalns had hoped.
