Mrs D.R. CRISSINGER, ‘Whose husband isGovernord theTederal FRAU VON LEWINSKTI, Wife of the German Coun- selor of Embass Brilliant Society Week To Be Opened Tomorrow | Night With Unique Dinner | Central American Conference Banquet and Re-| ception Heads List of Gayeties, With Parties, Grand Opera and Big Ball to Follow. SALLIE V. H. PICKETT. OLTETY is bursting forth tomorrow in a half dozen brilliant phases, receptions, dinner partics, grand opera and a big ball enlisting the attention of hundreds, while many will almost breathlessly travel from one gay scene to another in an effort to miss nothing. The dinner in the Pan-American Union, when the delegates of Guatemala, F1 Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costo Rica to the conference on Central American affairs will entertain for the Secretary of State and Mrs. Hughes, will, with the usually brilliant reception to follow, be one of the most splendid entertainments of the entire season. There will be fifty guests, quite official for the most, at the dinner, which will _be senjed in the Hall of Flags, where the dedication of the bust of a Colombian patriot recently took place. At 10 o'clock the reception in the Hall of the Americas will open. | HERE will be many unusual and interesting ieatures at the dinner in the way of decorations, viands and speeches, and the reccptio_n un-+ doubtedly will be the most interesting and beautiful ever held in the building. The delegates are making every effort to have the event a novel as well as an elegant one, and the thousand and more invited guests will be interested in the marimba orchestra of eight musicians brought from New York with much difficulty and expense for thg pleasure of the guests of honor and others of the vast company. Each musician is a skilled artist on the wonderful instrument. Nor will the music be the | only novel feature of the evening, for even the suppér will bear the marks of the Central American countries and will differ from the usual yiands served at evening receptions. lT will be 2 night of novelties, for at the Congressional Club, where a reception will be held in honor of the Speaker and-Mrs. Gillett, a-grand opera singer will appear during the hours of the receptiont ‘in_the person 6f the youngest member of the Metropolitan Opera Company, Mlle. Cecil Arden, who will charm the guests with several numbers. This will be the first time the Congressional Club has presented such an imposing feature at one of its evening receptions, and Mrs. Frank W. Mondell is greatly to be congratulated. E WASHINGTON OPERA COMPANY also will have a strong hold on the social and music-loving world of Washington at the President Theater tomorrow night, when “Rigoletto” will be presented to a brilliant judience. The opera will be repeated at a matinee Friday. The box- holders tomorrow night and for the Friday matinee are Senator Couzens of Michigan, Mrs. William T. Boardman, Mrs. Peter A. Drury, Mrs. H. Wilfred Du Puy, Mr. William Phelps Eno, Mrs. R. R. Govin, Mrs. George Mesta, Mrs. John Mock, Mrs. Joseph Schwarz, Miss Sophie Seibert, Mrs. Elonzo Tyner, Mrs. Walter R. Tuckerman, Mrs. William H. West and Mrs. Charles Boughton Wood. Out of compliment to her husband, the distinguished Russian baritone who sings the title role of the opera, Mrs. Schwarz has invited a group of guests to share her box, which will include Mr. George T. Marye, former ambassador to Russia, and Mrs. Marye, and Mr. and Mrs. Kliforth and several other disfinguished Russians. E SOUTHERN RELIEF ball, which has annually for many seasons held an evening almost exclusively for its entertainment, will share honors with other big events tomorrow night, many guests going to the New Willard, where the ball is to be given, after attending the more official functions. The George Baldwin McCoy Unit, American Women’s Legion, will also claim attention both afternoon and evening tomorrow, and Mrs. Harding, Mrs. Coolidge and the. cabinet women are standing sponsor, with many other women of society, for “The Headless Horseman,” which brings back the thrills of Washington Irving’s “Sleepy Hollow.” 'HERE are many.important dinner parties on for this week, including one on Wednesday night for the Secretary of State and Mrs. Hughes, when Senator and Mrs. Joseph S.
